Because of their love for drinking fine wines, Mike & Sharon found themselves wanting to
learn more about Viticulture & Enology. With one child finishing college, and the other on
their way there, they found themselves with the time to further their education, and learn
more about growing, and making wine. Mike, having grown up in a small farming
community in North Dakota, felt farming was in his blood. Starting with learning Vineyard
Management, they were both bit by the bug, and decided this was how they wanted to
spend the rest of their lives. Relatively young, they both felt they could dedicate the next
phase of their lives to learning about Viticulture, and growing high quality grapes.
Mike and Sharon set out on their quest to find the right property in the Central Coast
Region of California in Paso Robles. After looking for over a year, the perfect vineyard
and home came on the market. The Vineyard had 11 acres of head-trained Zinfandel
grapes (should it be grown any other way?). The Vineyard was in its fourth year, and the
fruit it produced was of the highest quality. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the
Vineyard, their Mediterranean Villa soon became their favorite place to be. Now they
work harder than ever in their Vineyard, finding themselves rejuvenated by the personal
satisfaction, and tangible results of their labors.... And, their Aussies love it too!
